A Lucky Charm Onesie for St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, so I decided to create a fun design for my own little lucky charm. Baby Bun isn’t due til May, but I figure this onesie can be worn year round.  The great thing about hand sewing the felt onto the onesie is that I can easily undo it and attach it to a bigger onesie.

I drew the shamrock and words onto the design using disappearing fabric ink, and then stitched it by hand using embroidery floss and and a needle.  Then I attached the onesie onto a small embroidery hoop and hand stitched around it to securely fasten it to the front.

I decided to attach the design at a little bit of an angle, because I thought it was cute (and easier than making it straight).  I’m all about whatever makes my life easier.

I love this design, and can’t wait to dress up my own little lucky charm.  I’m thinking if Baby Bun is a girl I can add a cute green bow or headband, and if a boy should arrive I could accesorize with cutie plaid socks.  Don’t judge me for dreaming about accessories for my baby.  :)  I’m not the only one, right?

Do you celebrate or decorate for St. Patrick’s Day?

Aw! So stinkin’ cute!! What size onesie is that? You could always get a package of 12month and do the same to it so you will have it all ready for St. Patty’s when Baby Bun is around 9months or so.

What a sweet idea! I found your blog on The Girl Creative bloghop, and I knew I had to click on something called “Barefeet on the Dashboard”. I always do that on long roadtrips with my hubby–lol. It is great to find your cute blog and read some great posts from a sister in Christ! I have my Calico and Cupcakes blog, but come check out my Christian wives blog called Helpmate. godlyhelpmate.blogspot.com.
How exciting that you have a little blessing on the way! God is good!
