peg and plum peg doll review

Peg and Plum sent us two sweet sets of peg dolls to review, a group of girls dressed for winter and a pirate crew. Each set came in a rolled up felt “sleeping bag”, perfect for storage and travel.

playing with peg dolls from Peg and Plum

I surprised the kids with their peg dolls the afternoon they arrived, and they were an instant hit. The Bear talked through every detail of his pirates with me. “This one has a sword, mommy.” This one has treasure and this one has a jolly roger.” The kid is in to pirates. The Pearl Girl loved taking her little babies in and out of their sleeping bag and carrying them around all over the house. At 18 months she is a little young for the dolls, but still loves them. I would say the prime peg doll ages would be 2 and up.

I originally intended to hide the dolls away after letting the kids review them (mean mommy blogger strikes again!) but they won’t have it. The Bear asks for his pirates every time I try to put them away, so I gave up. Merry early Christmas, kids!

Peg dolls fit perfectly in little hands

I love the detail and craftsmanship of the dolls, and the kids love how perfectly they fit in their hands. They are just right for being carried around on adventures around the house. If your child is asking for a doll house or pirate ship this year, these peg dolls would be the perfect accompaniment.

putting her peg dolls to bed

If you are traveling for the holidays, a Peg and Plum peg doll set with a coordinating sleeping bag would keep the kids entertained for hours with no screens involved. With peg dolls, the action comes from a child’s imagination, and I love that.

Just look at the detail on these precious winter girls. I’m in love with their little hats and scarves. I asked each kid to pick their favorite from the set. The Pearl Girl’s favorite is below. Like her mama she loves that aqua and red color combination.

This swashbuckling crew is ready for action and adventure. Swords, treasure, and eye patch details really make them stand out. The Bear’s favorite is below with his sack full of loot.

My other favorites from Peg and Plum are the custom family sets, nativity set, and female community helpers. They are all so cute and collectible. Peg doll sets start at $24 and the sets we review are $34 each. Baby announcement and gender reveal peg doll gifts are only $12.

  1. My daughter (5) would LOVE these! She plays endlessly with anything with a face and these would be perfect for toting around to big brother’s practices, etc!

  2. I recently joined Etsy ad have been looking for good shops to follow that offer nice hand-made toys. The Peg and Plum shop is perfect! Thanks for the review. 🙂

  3. These are amazing. I love the details. These are great because they’re big enough they won’t get easily lost (unlike Lego men which are their current favourites lol)

  4. The carrying/storage case is a GREAT idea – reminds little ones to put it away so you don’t find the lost pirate under the couch when you move it to make room for the Christmas Tree! Way to go!
