We are a Disney loving family and love to celebrate. We recently hosted a #DisneySide play date recently for some of our sweet friends and today I’m sharing a few easy tips to help you throw your own. I set up an easy Disney photo booth backdrop to take keepsake photos of the mamas and kids, made tasty Mickey Mouse inspired treats, and had a blast. We were so thrilled to be chosen to host a #DisneySide party again this year, thanks to the folks at Disney Parks. We had our first ever family movie night with both kids this past weekend, and it was so much fun. As I’ve mentioned before, Disney Planes is the Bear’s current favorite movie. Jed and I had both seen it in bits and pieces, but never sat down to watch the entire thing with him. We prepped the world’s easiest movie snacks that were a huge hit with the whole family, and sat down to enjoy the movie together. Kids are funny. Just when you think you have them figured out, they throw you for a loop. Our son recently developed a fear of shadows in his room at night. I’m talking a wake up screaming bloody murder, wake the neighbors and his baby sister, traumatizing for everyone involved fear. It came out of the blue and we had no idea what to do about it. We prayed with him and snuggled him and tried to reason with him. Nothing worked until we decided to talk about courage. Being the Disney obsessed family that we are, we used his current favorite movie, Planes, to help teach him to be brave and courageous like his buddy Dusty.
