Holiday shopping for kids can be a daunting task. With millions of options, how do you find the best gift for your child that they will love and treasure? I’ve teamed up with a group of fabulous Kid Blogger Network folks to bring you real reviews of items from your kid’s wishlist. Peg and Plum is an Etsy shop focused on making high quality peg dolls perfect for imaginative play. Nativity sets for Christmas, Thanksgiving sets for the kids’ table, wedding and birthday cake toppers, custom sets made to look like your family, favorite characters, community helpers, and just about any type of peg doll you can imagine are available at Peg and Plum. Read on to find out what we thought about the peg dolls and enter to win a set of your own.
Peg and Plum sent us two sweet sets of peg dolls to review, a group of girls dressed for winter and a pirate crew. Each set came in a rolled up felt “sleeping bag”, perfect for storage and travel.
I surprised the kids with their peg dolls the afternoon they arrived, and they were an instant hit. The Bear talked through every detail of his pirates with me. “This one has a sword, mommy.” This one has treasure and this one has a jolly roger.” The kid is in to pirates. The Pearl Girl loved taking her little babies in and out of their sleeping bag and carrying them around all over the house. At 18 months she is a little young for the dolls, but still loves them. I would say the prime peg doll ages would be 2 and up.
I originally intended to hide the dolls away after letting the kids review them (mean mommy blogger strikes again!) but they won’t have it. The Bear asks for his pirates every time I try to put them away, so I gave up. Merry early Christmas, kids!
I love the detail and craftsmanship of the dolls, and the kids love how perfectly they fit in their hands. They are just right for being carried around on adventures around the house. If your child is asking for a doll house or pirate ship this year, these peg dolls would be the perfect accompaniment.
If you are traveling for the holidays, a Peg and Plum peg doll set with a coordinating sleeping bag would keep the kids entertained for hours with no screens involved. With peg dolls, the action comes from a child’s imagination, and I love that.
Just look at the detail on these precious winter girls. I’m in love with their little hats and scarves. I asked each kid to pick their favorite from the set. The Pearl Girl’s favorite is below. Like her mama she loves that aqua and red color combination.
This swashbuckling crew is ready for action and adventure. Swords, treasure, and eye patch details really make them stand out. The Bear’s favorite is below with his sack full of loot.
My other favorites from Peg and Plum are the custom family sets, nativity set, and female community helpers. They are all so cute and collectible. Peg doll sets start at $24 and the sets we review are $34 each. Baby announcement and gender reveal peg doll gifts are only $12.

My daughter (5) would LOVE these! She plays endlessly with anything with a face and these would be perfect for toting around to big brother’s practices, etc!

I love these! My kids are both full grown now but I wish they had been available when they were toddlers!
I recently joined Etsy ad have been looking for good shops to follow that offer nice hand-made toys. The Peg and Plum shop is perfect! Thanks for the review. 🙂
These are ADORABLE! I love them so much! They would be a great gift for my nearly 3 year old niece or even my 5 year old daughter. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
Love the delicate detail and that they have a carrying case!! These are darling!
These are amazing. I love the details. These are great because they’re big enough they won’t get easily lost (unlike Lego men which are their current favourites lol)
They are so cute and I love the holder they come in. It’s like their little bed 🙂
These peg dolls are great! I really must get some for my girls.
I love wooden toys. These are just too cute!
The carrying/storage case is a GREAT idea – reminds little ones to put it away so you don’t find the lost pirate under the couch when you move it to make room for the Christmas Tree! Way to go!
Great for imaginary play and for small hands – I remember my mum made something similar when I was little.
How lovely! Perfect for little hands!
wooden toys are so much more durable than plastic, id much rather my littlies had wooden toys. these are adorable too!
these are so cute and look really durable so would get hours of play with them
They are super cute! I love that they can be made to look like anyone you like. How cool would it be to have my own family made as peg people!
Always a farourite with kids. Little people are a timeless classic and great for imaginative play
Beautifully painted toys.
These remind me of the little wooden peg dolls I had when I was a kid
