Taste Safe Strawberry Lemonade Sparkle Sensory Play Dough

We are having so much fun with our latest homemade play dough this week. It smells and looks so fun, and the kids have been playing with it nonstop. The recipe is super easy AND taste safe for your little ones. My Pearl Girl puts everything in her mouth, so I try to make sure all of our play dough recipes are taste safe. Taste Safe Strawberry Lemonade Sparkle Sensory Dough Recipe:

3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup vegetable oil
1 small package of strawberry sugar free jello
1 cup water
1/2 cup corn starch
4 drops lemon essential oil
pink sugar crystal sprinkles

Directions: I threw everything in my stand mixer (except the sugar crystals) and mixed it well using the dough hook attachment. You can also stir it with a spoon in a large bowl. The kids loved helping dump in ingredients and watching the mixer stir. After the dough was ready, I let the kids add the sugar crystals to make the dough sparkle. The kneaded the sugar crystals in to the dough, and loved watching the sparkly sugar get mixed in. It was a great sensory experience as they felt the dough, smelled the strawberry and lemon scent, and kneaded the crystals in.

We set up the dough in our DIY sensory bin and the kids played for quite a while. They used cookie cutters to make shapes, and experimented pulling and twisting and forming the dough.
