Yesterday I got my long awaited test results for the gestational diabetes 3 hour glucose tolerance test. Ok, I really only had to wait over the weekend, but it seemed like an eternity. My results came back totally normal for the whole test! I am so thankful and praising God for the wake up call to eat healthier. We needed it desperately, and had become really lazy about our eating and exercise. Type 2 diabetes runs in both of our families, so we are now on a mission to fight those genetics. This whole ordeal has put Jed and I on the same page nutritionally, which is huge for us. And hopefully will prevent us from being huge in the future. 🙂 Thanks so much to everyone who prayed for Bun and me.

We are praising God for so much today- spring and spring break, good test results, loving family and friends who are kind enough to throw us baby showers, our fabulous and affordable rent house, great jobs that we love, great friends, our neighborhood lake, and so much more.

For what are you thankful today?

  1. Yay God!! So glad to read this this morning!

This morning I am thankful for my legs, and I am going to try my hardest to get them moving outside of the house with my boys. We too have diabetes running in our family, and we’re fighting that nutritional battle to make sure we all get enough exercise and fruits and veg.

Take a moment and put your feet up, and have a blessed week!!

  2. Thank goodness your test results were good. I had the same issues when I was pregnant all three times. I didn’t have diabetes either, but it did make me realize that I needed to be more careful. I’m almost 59 years old now. Our youngest is 28 and we have 7 grands. So far, I haven’t had any issues with diabetes, and hopefully never will. Best wishes for a healthy baby and easy delivery!

  3. so glad everything was okay! I am grateful today that my little baby is taking a much needed nap after a really rough night of teething. ugh!

  4. I’m so glad that everything turned out okay for you! I had GD in my first pregnancy, but, like you I kicked it in high gear and changed my diet and exercise habits. My father has T2D so I am also fighting genetics but this pregnancy has been GREAT and NO GD this time around! Wooo HOO! I only have a week left before I meet my little guy. I’m thankful for that!

  5. I’m so glad to hear that your results came back negative. I failed my test with my first pregnancy and had to do the four hour test where you drink the nasty stuff and can’t eat all day and it was terrible. Yay for you!
