This summer we traveled across the southern U.S. staying with friends and family along the way. At every home we visited I found something inspiring, as I often do visiting the homes of friends here in Dallas. I asked several of them if it would be ok to share a peek at their real homes and creative touches for a new series here at Bare Feet on the Dashboard. No staging, no faking it, I’ll just share real homes to inspire you. To kick off my Real Home Inspiration series, I’m bringing you the Hansen Family’s DIY touches, vintage finds, and super fun bicycle themed nursery. I hope you love it as much as I do. Thanks to the Hansens for sharing their home with us!
This vintage camera collection lines a shelf in their kitchen.
These empty window frames are painted and have wire hung between the panes. Rachel added black and white photos with clothespins. Such a fun way to have an ever changing gallery.
Always losing your keys? You probably need a gorgeous rustic floral key holder like this one in your kitchen.
So simple and perfect. Two canvases painted with chalkboard paint and a bible verse hang in the entry way.
Stuart is an avid cyclist, in fact his friendship with Jed began on the mountain bike trails at Windy Gap. They designed this bicycle themed nursery for their son and it is just about perfect. They have a baby on the way and I can’t wait to see what they do next. No pressure, guys.
They recovered this rocker and ottoman to coordinate, and added a monogram pillow and bicycle curtain.
Bicycle bedding and a bicycle painting really bring the theme home. That painting will be perfect for a big boy room or any room in the house later on.
Check out the detail on the orange and white bicycle curtains. So cute and festive!
The bicycle painting is definitely my favorite thing in the whole house. What did you like best? Stay tuned for more real home inspiration coming soon and follow me on Pinterest for lots of fun ideas. Read more of our DIY posts here.
