20 Ideas for Summer Fun with Preschool Kids:
Get outside and explore with a family nature walk. Kids love exploring and discovering the world around them and short hikes or walks around the neighborhood can be perfect opportunities to help them learn.
One of our favorite summer activities is visiting the local splash parks in our city. The DFW area has TONS of fun splash pads so we have lots of options. If you don’t know of splash parks in your area, ask other moms or search your local Parks and Recreation website.
Finger painting is a perfect outdoor art activity for preschool kids. Find our tips for stress free finger painting here, and try Firework Finger Painting to celebrate Independence Day.
Think back to your own childhood, and break out the hose and sprinkler. Put on your swimsuit and run through the sprinkler with your kids. I promise it is still just as fun. Bonus points if you add water guns or water balloons.
Sidewalk chalk is super cheap and provides endless entertainment. Get your kids playing creatively this summer with Sidewalk Chalk Activities. You can even use sidewalk chalk to practice letters and name recognition.
Stay active even when it is too hot to play outside with these awesome Active Indoor Play Boredom Buster Ideas.
Play tourist in your own city. Summer is a great time to visit your local zoo, aquarium, or amusement park. A staycation weekend is a great option that’s more budget friendly than a big trip.
